Odesza drops a classic with their new album “In Return”

In the midst of my excitement over the releases from BANKS and Jhene Aiko yesterday, I accidentally overlooked another album release I had been looking forward to – “In Return” from Seattle natives, Odesza. After around 2 years without an official new release from Odesza, it only took me one listen of “In Return” to determine it was well worth the wait. The album is fueled by a heavy dosage of melodic emotion driven by the airy electronic instrumentation & powerful bass we have come to expect from Odesza. The biggest stand out on the album for me, however, is how far Odesza has come in their effective utilization of vocals on this release. With a multitude of vocal features selected perfectly to heighten the emotion elicited from Odesza’s instrumentation, the duo makes each and every track memorable in its own way. Whether you are grinding at work, relaxing at night, or at the gym, download this album and you won’t be disappointed. Rather, you’ll be in awe at how you can feel uplifted, yet relaxed at the same damn time. Check my favorite tracks below.

Autograf breathes new life into FHR & Savoir Adore’s “The Fire”

A sure way to my heart in music is a mellow electronic remix to an indie song that incorporates either piano or horns. Autograf seems to be aware of this very fact, as he delivers a gem with his remix to an already great track from French Horn Rebellion & Savoir Adore “The Fire”. The song has mellow vocals, timely touches of piano, and an uplifting drop that you won’t want to end. A great way to end the day or wake yourself up in the morning!

Hoodie drops new single/video “Dumb For You” off his upcoming album!

Hoodie delivers yet again. Just in time for summer flings to come to an end, Hoodie brings us a perfect break-up track “Dumb For You” off of his upcoming album “People Keep Talking.” I’ve been rocking with Hoodie since his first mixtape years ago, and it’s amazing to see his continued evolution and improvement as an artist. His songs are just so damn catchy and I always appreciate his witty pop culture references (look out for the Friday Night Lights one in this track!). If you are feeling this, look out for his album to drop in about a month on Oct 14!
